Neotrope® is the company formerly known as Mindset*, established 1983 in Redondo Beach, and Manhattan Beach, California, by Christopher Laird Simmons, an award-winning graphic artist, photographer, musician, marketing guru, and public relations expert. Neotrope Records and Neotrope Press were founded in 1995, and the entire company became NEOTROPE in 1999. (The name comes from the words neo and tropia, which roughly translates to new hyperbole.) *IMPORTANT NOTICE: our company has NO relationship to ANY other company called "Mindset" or using the word in their name, such as "Mindset Interactive," "Mindset Software," "Mindset Design," or similar companies either current or insolvent. Which Mindset are/were we? From 1983 to 1999 we provided advertising, brand identity, design, direct marketing, printing, SEO, and public relations services as "Mindset." We also published various "fanzines" from 1987 to 1992 as "Mindset Press," but have no relationship with any company(s) operating today under that name. From 1996 to 1999 we operated "Mindset Hosting" and "Mindset Media." We have not used the name "Mindset" in our business since 1999/2000 when we discontinued using Mindset Hosting, Mindset Media, Mindset Netwire, Mindset Advertising Management System (MAMS), and Mindset Communications. |
